Fire staff
As the name suggests, fire staff is good at dealing fire damage, which is one among New World’s six types of elemental damage. It scales with Intelligence but loading up on Constitution too can work out great for PvP.
While its main focus is Area of Effect, the fire staff also excels at targeted attacks and boasts of a good enough range.
On the other hand, though, it doesn’t have crowd control which can be a bit of a bummer for close combat with multiple enemies. It’s even worse when you consider that these enemies can actually interrupt your movement skill.
No worries, though – pairing up fire staff with a rapier, ice gauntlet, or war hammer can help fill in for these and more shortcomings.
The fire staff’s mastery includes the Fire Mage tree and the Pyromancer tree.
The Fire Mage tree enhances heavy attacks and critical strikes. It deals with stuff like crits (increasing their likelihood and making them hit harder), maintaining high mana, and reducing cooldowns.
The Pyromancer tree is the burn side of the weapon. All the abilities, except the ultimate mastery, are geared towards exerting as much burn as possible which is well reflected in their names – Kindle, Let it Burn, and Watch it Burn.
